Ee Adutha Kalathu is Arun Kumar Aravind's emotionally hurting,a must watch film.Arun Kumar Aravind is a sensible and intelligent director and he proved his talent by his previous superhit movie KOCKTAIL.Editing is also done by him,a first-rate editing.This movie is produced by Raju Malliath under the banner 'ragam movies'.Script is done by Murali Gopi,Bharath Gopi's son,who is doing one of the main characters in this film.Before he scripted "Rasikan".The Kerala State award winning cinematographer Shahanad Jalal's frames are captivating.this movie contain six songs composed by Gopi Sunder with Rafeek Ahmed's lyric.The background singers include Vijay Yesudas,Nayana Nayar,Rahul Nambiar,Annakatharina Valayil.The background score of the film has been composed by Gopi Sunder.The sound track was released by Manorama music.
Ee adutha kalathu is a brilliantly scipted and intelligently performed movie.It portrays the life of six different persons from different strata of society.It keeps us for a long,long running time of about three hours.Multiple narratives have almost become overused in the world of cinema today and it works extraordinarily well in Ee adutha kalathu.The main concept of the film is good v/s evil.There are about 25 characters in this film including Ingrajith,Murali Gopi,Anoop Menon,Nishan,Mythili,Thanusree Gosh,Jagathy Sreekumar,Lena,Biju,Indrans,etc.All the characters are extremely special because they are individuals totally lost in a gloomy world of their own.There is an urban look for the whole film.The intelligent use of Bible quotes,signature tunes of certain popular TV shows at certain sequence in the movie are the main attractions of the film.The film includes the multifarious elements such as :impact of internet on kids,growing cyber sex rackets,friendship for friendship's sake,use and throw affairs,suffering of downtrodden,etc.
the life is like a Rubiks cube and the perplexity of it cannot be easily resolved,we just need to keep twirling it till the sides are arranged eith even colours.It revolves around a theme containing all the complexities of a Rubiks cube,but perfectly solved in the end with a good narrative technique.
The unsuccessfull marriage between Ajay Kurian(Murali Gopi) and his wifeMadhuri(Thanusree) is revealed here.Mdhuri has been forced to marry Ajay and also she has forced to change her carrier by her father.so she hates her father more than anything in this world.She wants to become a photographer but her father forced her to stand in front of cameras instead of standing behind.the camera.Far away,under a thatched rented house,Vishnu(Indrajith),his wife Ramani(Mythili)thier two daughters were leading a very happy life.Vishnu is a rag picker.Mythili is having an amazing bodylanguage that she proves positively that she's here to stay.Jagathy Sreekumar is doing as a magazine editor of 'theepantham'.Ajay is undergoing a severe psycholigical trauma and he humiliates his wife all the day.Sex is perhaps the last thing on the woman's mind when she finally decides to meet up with Rustan(Nishan),who murmers his fascination of her,incoherently over the phone.Nishan is doing an excellent job in this,the brocken Malayalam of Nishan gives a natural effect.The most shocking moments is the way Rustam plans at seducing Madhuri.
The commissioner of police,Tom Cherian(Anoop Menon) had been constantly being a laughing stock by the public,since a serial killer is missing and his department hasn't been able to do anything about it.His journalist girl friend Rupa(Lena),who is the best friend of Madhuri has had it up to the hilt with the yellow press having a field time proclaiming the details of their clandestine romance,and keep coercing Tommy to tie her knot.The sreet smartness of rag picker Vishnu clerly visible in the scenes such as to burry the corpse in a public waste dump so that its ugly smell couldn't be recognised and when they return he tells Mythili the tricks to be said to the police.It is really an amazing movie focused to the contemporary society.
